Edmonton police seize more than $117,000 in cash and drugs - Edmonton Journal

After a month-long drug traffic investigation conducted by the Edmonton Police Service special project team 1 (SPT1) more than $117,000 in cash and illegal drugs was seized, leading to charges being laid against an Edmonton man and woman.

On July 1, SPT1 began an investigation after getting reports from the public of a suspicious vehicle alleged to be involved in drug transactions in the Brewery District.

On Friday, SPT1 officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence near 117 Street and 105 Avenue NW and a parked Honda Civic.

Inside the house, officers found close to $40,000 in Canadian money along with 71.5 grams of methamphetamine with a value of $60,000 as well as 168.5 grams of cocaine with a value of $18,000.

Anthony Deng-Truong, 24, and Alyssa Deng, 20 have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.
