Teachers want COVID-19 data released for public
As students return to classes, the Province announced it will not be sending out COVID-19 school exposure notices.
B.C. Teachers Federation head Teri Mooring says although imperfect, the notices provided some indication about what was happening in schools.
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says the notices mainly caused anxiety for parents, but Mooring says having no information would cause more stress.
According to Mooring, only those who are directly affected will be notified this year. She wants exposure data in schools to be made available to the public on the BC CDC website in the same manner health region data is reported.
