“After considering the new information and all other available evidence the prosecutor concluded the charge approval standard could no longer be met. Having come to this conclusion the prosecutor directed a stay of proceedings,” wrote Dan McLaughlin, communications counsel for the prosecution service.
He further noted the information leading to the dropped charges remains privileged and confidential.
