
At the dam site, workers have begun installing steel piles that extend the foundation further into the bedrock as part of the right bank foundation enhancements.
Turbines and generators continue to be delivered to the site for storage and installation. The remaining four turbine runners are expected to land at Prince Rupert in the middle of November, and they will make it to the site in early 2022.
Most work on the Highway 29 realignment is shutting down for the winter. At Cache Creek East, highway grade construction has wrapped up, but steel bridge girders and bridge foundation installation will continue to be delivered and assembled.
In the reservoir area, logging activities continue with the help of boats and helicopters. Timber that is suitable for resale is being hauled to local mills in Chetwynd, Fort St. John and Dawson Creek.
Conductor stringing is shut down until the end of November when the transmission line contractor will mobilize the site to continue stringing conductors.
Based on the latest employment statistics, there were 4,963 total workers on Site C in September.
